Now onto the story because that's what this post is about.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
From what he could remember, the first time he’d met her, ‘Mantha,  she’d been a loner. She was reserved, quiet, and barely talked. She always seemed quite sickly, acting like she wanted to hide something from the world.  But enough about how she was..
How they met was more important.
It was strange.  Insanely… strange.
Mad.
It was mad.
He’d always loved adventures, action novels, cartography, he even had a collection of compasses he kept in a glass case in his room.  He’d been keeping up with the collection ever since he went on his first trip. It was kind of dumb, actually it was really dumb, but he kept the tradition every time he traveled.
He remembered it vividly, how he stared at the compass collection, how he glanced over at the mirror nearby, seeing something, no, someone.  Just a mere second as he looked away, but it was there, clear as day. A searing pain struck him through the head, overwhelming his every thought.  Like a bright, white, searing light. It lasted for several moments, each moment more painful than the last, before it vanished. He couldn't say as fast as it came, it certainly didn't feel like that.
The sensation left him.. extremely dizzy, and rather tired.  He staggered to the small bed in his equally small room. He was tired, and yet he found that it would be impossible to sleep, as much as he tried.  He laid there, for what seemed like forever, staring at the walls of the small room, the candles having being put out. Eventually he felt his eyes close, as he dozed off
He woke up, feeling just as if not more tired than before he'd gone to sleep.  Restless, yet exhausted. But it was time to stop fooling around, he had adventures to participate in, a father and crew that was waiting on him.  He pulled open the door, stepping through without a second thought.. but…
When he stepped through, he was anywhere but the ship he'd been living on.  A world… different. A world completely opposite and yet similar to his own, a world where the grass was blue and the sky was green at first, before shifting other colors, a galaxy in the skies above him.  Across the entire.. New world.. Were lilies, lilacs, dandelions, fairy roses, violets, all sorts of flowers of all shades, covering the ground. The world felt hazy.. Unreal..
He noticed something about the world around him, the more he looked around, the more he realized, the world was a sort of mirror, a large space, but.. On every side it seemed to reflect the world around him.  Like a cage, a large, mirrored cage. Emphasis on large, even with the reflections, it didn’t make the space any smaller.
He heard a twig snap, whipping his head around to the sound.  He wasn’t alone. Far off in the strange world, in a portion of tall blue grass, was a girl, bent over flowers.  She had lilac purple hair, long and lovely, a rather thin face, sharp eyes. Eyes that had glanced upwards, looking at me with shock, confusion, and suspicion.  She looked on edge. She dropped the flowers she’d been gathering, as she started to back up.
“I..” I stammered. I didn't know what to say in this situation.  “I didn’t mean to scare you-er-I mean.. I don’t exactly know what I’m doing here.”  The thought hadn’t occurred to him that he might be dreaming. That’s.. Probably what he was doing anyway.  Dreaming.
“I don’t think this is… real.  Do you have any idea what’s going on?”  He didn’t expect a response. She didn’t look like she would be willing to give one either.
But then she did. “I don’t know..” She looked like she was lying, something he could see.
“You brought me here, didn't you?” he didn't want to make assumptions or accuse, but at this point, it was the only logical option.  With her guilty look, it even more so proved his assumption. He glanced around again, he noticed a crack in the mirrors. He started to wonder…  Was the world tied to them? No… linked to them? To their emotions? It wasn’t a completely crazy theory. “I… didn’t mean to upset you.” He added quickly, trying to avoid any catastrophe’s while he was here.
The sky started swirling different colors, a galaxy above his head.  It was beautiful. The grass around him moved in an invisible wind, as the two stood, seemingly looking at each other, and yet any other place at the same time.
             “You didn’t,” she said—her voice not exactly cold, but certainly not warm. She wasn’t lying, this time, though.
“But.. you did bring me here?  I mean that’s the only logical option.”
“...What is logic?” She finally asked, tilting her head to smile. “What is logic in a place like this?” She gestured around them.
“Well… logic still has to exist to some degree.  Otherwise everything would be chaotic.” Well, maybe the world around them was a little chaotic.  He preferred to say strange, that way he wasn't admitting there was no logic at all.
The girl pursed her lips. “It has occurred to me,” she said, changing the subject, “that perhaps you could assist me in something.”
